Everything you need to know about Everest2015
When will you climb Everest?
We will climb Mount Everest in the spring of 2015.
Which route will you use?
We haven’t yet decided with route we will use, and we still have a few options in play. Mingma is climbing Everest in spring 2014 and will provide good intel on the latest conditions on the mountain. As of now (spring 2014) are we considering either The North Side – Normal route or The North Side – Grand couloir. As we are dealing with mother nature can and will everything change, and we will make the final decision on the spot in spring 2015.
Which style will you use?
Having said that will we use a mix of styles. We will rely on the comfort of base camp, where we will enjoy cooked food, all our equipment will be carried to the foot of Mt Everest – this will rule out any attempt in climbing Everest in Alpine style.
Further, as we will establish and stock camps during acclimatization will we not be climbing in a pure true alpine style. Lastly will we feel free to use any kind of protection, even already places ones, which also wouldn’t be an alpine style.
But then again, our goal isn’t to climb Everest in alpine style, our goal is to climb it unsupported.
Who is the climbing members?
Everest2015 will consist of 2 climbers; Ivan Braun (Denmark) and Mingma Sherpa (Nepal)
What is the size of the climbing team?
Everest2015 will be based on 2 team members that will climb Mount Everest.
From the comfort of base camp will the team only consist of 2 climbers.
